Pastor
Glen Schmiege Pastor Schmiege spent his boyhood on a small farm in rural Michigan. He is the youngest of three brothers. Because he thought he might want to become a teacher, he enrolled at Michigan Lutheran Seminary, a WELS supported preparatory high school. He continued his education at Northwestern College in Watertown, Wisconsin. Having decided to pursue the pastoral ministry, he completed his studies at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, Wisconsin. Prior to coming to Eastside, Pastor Schmiege served a small mission congregation in Keystone Heights, Florida. Pastor Schmiege and his wife, Beth, have been blessed with three sons and three daughters. Pastor Schmiege enjoys travel and is an avid spectator of sports at any level. Pastor Schmiege values the diversity of gifts that God has given to the members of Eastside and the willingness of so many people to use those gifts to contribute to the ministry of the Gospel here. He and his family are especially grateful for the educational resources and opportunities that Eastside provides for families. |

Mike Novotny Hello! I’m Pastor Mike Novotny, the outreach pastor here at Eastside. I’m a Green Bay native who has lived all over our great state. After attending Green Bay Preble High School, I decided to become a pastor and enrolled at Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN. It was there that I met my wife to be, Kim Springstroh, an Appleton native. We married just after graduation in June of 2003. After the “I do’s”, Kim began teaching preschool and I began studying at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, WI. Four intense years covered in-depth Bible study in the original languages (Hebrew and Greek), counseling, preaching, outreach, family ministry, and more. I graduated in May of 2007 and was assigned to Eastside, my very first church. In July of 2008, God blessed us with our first child, a beautiful baby girl who has changed my life. Her name is Brooklyn. When I’m not in the office, I love to play sports. I’ve been a soccer nut since I was a baby and I currently play Real Zaragosa. My other interests include basketball, eating, reading tons of books, ping-pong, more eating, and, of course, spending quality time with Kim, Brooklyn, and Maya. My wife and I are excited to be here at Eastside. We agree that the ministry potential here is absolutely incredible and we can’t wait to get to know our community better. Every day the Lord opens our eyes to the beautiful things that are happening right in our own back yard. Email me anytime. I’d love to hear from you. Mrs. Anne Heller I'll tell you a little of my background. I was born to an English Mom and an American Father. During my growing up years I lived in Milwaukee where I attended Mt. Lebanon Lutheran Grade School and Wisconsin Lutheran High School. I graduated from Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm , Minnesota which is our training school for the teaching ministry. Upon graduation I served at St. John-St. James in Reedsville, Wisconsin, then at St. John's in Newtonburg, Wisconsin, and presently here at Eastside Lutheran. In addition to my teaching call, I also serve as Deaconess where I minister to congregation members in a variety of fascets. My family consists of my husband Allen, my two children, and my son-in-law. I am a lover of animals of which I have six and I also sport a motorcycle which I love driving.
