Our Church History

It is a commonly observed custom to review the main features of the past as well as the present. It allows our appreciation to increase in view of all the things God has done for us and it makes us realize that none of this would be possible without the sustaining hand of the Lord. How evident this is when we consider that our church grew from humble and meager beginnings into a large and flourishing congregation despite numerous difficulties and obstacles. The congregation was just organized when the great depression of the 1920's and 1930's struck - but the congregation grew. On the heels of the depression came the era of wars, World War II, Korean and Vietnam, an era that saw the great dislocation and even violent upheavals on the home front far from the scenes of the battle; but the congregation grew. In our present day, it does not seem that the evil effects of war are being erased; rather, there is a frightening increase in immorality, in crime and in general social decay. Nevertheless, our congregation is still growing. Our church has been a source of true peace in a troubled world. For all this, we owe thanks to the Lord.
