Thanksgiving Food Drive Canvass

Do you like to walk? Do you enjoy paper bags? Do you want more people to hear about Jesus at Eastside?  Do you want to help feed the poor? Are you thankful to God? If you said “Yes” to any of those questions, then you will love our Thanksgiving Food Drive Canvass.

On Saturday, November 11th, Eastside Lutheran is going to canvass Madison’s east side community. Canvassers will drop off a paper bag and ask that people fill it up with non-perishable items for a local food shelter. On the bag and inside the bag will be information about Eastside Lutheran church, school, and preschool. The following Saturday, Nov. 18, we will pick up the bags and take them all over to the food shelter. We will need volunteers to distribute bags on Saturday, Nov. 11, and we will need people to pick up the bags on Nov. 18. (If you have a truck, I’m looking directly at you:) We have different time slots available for volunteers to serve and there will be a short briefing session before we send you out so that you feel comfortable and know exactly where to go. Please sign up on the sheets in the church lobby or email Pastor Schlicht at pschlicht@eastsidelutheran.org.

This event will not only provide food for those in need, but will be an opportunity to invite the community to our church, school, and preschool. We have so much to be thankful for as Christians. Let’s reflect that thankfulness by serving others and inviting people to learn about Jesus Christ, our greatest reason to give thanks.
