LUTHERAN BOY PIONEERS & LUTHERAN GIRL PIONEERS

Those who have grown up in the country and have had the advantage of being close to God's wonders of creation have always felt that there should be something special for the boys and girls.  When the program of the Lutheran Pioneers was introduced to the congregations of the Synod, it was examined with a view toward the needs of the youth at Eastside. Favor was found among parents and the program was  chartered in the year 1960 with a program for the boys.  Not long thereafter a similar program was developed for the girls.  Through the framework of these organizations, crafts, homemaking, outdoor life, nature study and patriotic themes have been brought into focus with young Christian faiths.  Some of the leaders have, since serving their congregation, also served on the District and National leveL
