Mr. Monroe is a 1984 graduate of Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota.  He has taught in Williamston, Michigan, and Menasha, Baraboo and now Madison, Wisconsin.

Besides being a school principal for 22 years, he has also served as a classroom teacher in grades 5-8, been an athletic director and coach, and served three years as a family minister.  This year I also have the privilege of teaching grades 7-8 and serving as athletic director.  I look forward to working side by side with my wife again as she will be teaching kindergarten this year.

“I believe that Eastside Lutheran School offers children that which is needed the most in life, which is daily instruction in God’s Word.  It is that faith in Jesus, our Savior, which serves as the motivating factor for everything our children do.  To be an instructor working with colleagues of the same faith, teaching children the love of Christ in all facets of education is the joy of every day.”

Mr. Monroe and his wife, Tammy, live in Sun Prairie.  They have three children—Steve, a CPA living in Milwaukee; Tom, a college junior living in Lincoln, Nebraska; and Rachel, a senior at Luther Preparatory School in Watertown.

I came into this world December 30, 1983 in Saginaw, MI.  I grew up in Saginaw with just one older brother. My “home” congregation was St. Paul’s in Saginaw. I attended grade school at St. Paul’s and went on to Michigan Lutheran Seminary in Saginaw for high school.

After high school I went over to Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN, graduating last May with a degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in English and a few credits short of an Early Childhood Education degree. This is my first call to teach preschool here in Madison at Eastside Lutheran.

I truly enjoy teaching and working with children.   I also love being around family and friends, traveling, art, and some sports. I feel very blessed to teach all the wonders of God  to little children and work with such a Christ-centered congregation.

Hi, I’m Tammy Monroe and currently the kindergarten teacher at Eastside Lutheran.   I knew I always wanted to be a teacher ever since I was young growing up in Wisconsin.   After high school graduation from Winnebago Lutheran Academy in Fond du Lac, WI, I attended and graduated from Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN. I later earned my Wisconsin teaching certification from Wisconsin Lutheran College in Milwaukee.
I have had the privilege to teach kindergarten children in Williamston, MI, Prairie du Sac, Baraboo, Sun Prairie, and Madison, WI. I have also served as a substitute teacher and enjoyed teaching 1st, 2nd, and 7th grade in long term positions. I am excited and feel blessed to now be a teacher of Jesus’ little lambs at Eastside.
My husband Scott is 7th and 8th grade teacher and principal here at Eastside.  We have been blessed with three children: Stephen, an accountant living in Milwaukee; Tom, a student in Lincoln, NE; and Rachel, a senior at Luther Prep School in Watertown. We keep busy with family and church activities.

The love of children led me to pursue the teaching ministry.  I received my teaching degree from Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota and my state certification from Wisconsin Lutheran College in Milwaukee.

My first two years of teaching were spent on an Apache Reservation as a kindergarten and first grade teacher.  I really enjoyed working with another culture and learned many things from these people.

Teaching in Oconomowoc and now in Madison has brought me back to my home state of Wisconsin.  I have enjoyed coaching many sports with my favorites being volleyball and basketball.  Working with remedial students has also been an area of interest.

I thank the Lord for giving me the privilege to serve Him here at Eastside.

I'm Jennifer Boll and music is my second favorite subject to teach, after Word of God.  I've taught music in grades 1-8 over the years.  I've played piano since around age 5.

My first call sent me to Peridot, AZ to teach grades 3 and 4.  Peridot is my August birthstone, so being there among the Apache Indians and peridot mines was special to me.  Next I taught near Fond du Lac at Waucousta Lutheran.  My rural students were quite different, but a great joy.

In 2001 I accepted my call to Eastside.  I have 3rd grade this year, along with the junior choir.  While here at Eastside I have also enjoyed playing handbells and organ and singing in the adult choir.

My name is Richard Korth.  I have been teaching since 1969.  I was raised in Juneau, WI.  After attending St. John’s Lutheran grade school, I went to Northwestern Prep in Watertown, WI.  Upon graduation from Dr. Martin Luther College, I was called to St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Whitewater, WI.

While serving the Lord at St. John’s and St. Paul’s I furthered my education by acquiring a Master of Science in Teaching degree from the University of WI at Whitewater.

I am now serving Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church as their Minister of Education.  My primary responsibility is teaching at Eastside Lutheran School, serving as faculty secretary, and Athletic Director.

My duties at Zion include serving on the church council, directing the choir, and Sunday school Superintendent.  I assist pastor with liturgy once a month and communion twice a month.  I also teach a weekly evening adult bible class.

I thank the Lord for allowing me to serve him at Zion and at Eastside.
